Charles Elwin “Chuck” Burklow, 57, of Allegan, MI passed away Monday, June 24, 2019 at his home. Born May 24, 1962 in Holland, MI, he was the son of the late Lehmon Burklow and Florence (Bowering) Bradford. Chuck had worked with various employers during his adult life including Kent Holland Diecast, Perrigo, Challenge and, currently, Independent Tool and Manufacturing Company of Allegan. Mongo, as he was known on CB radio during his stint driving semitrucks, was also a licensed mechanic who had a passion for anything and everything relating to automobiles. He loved working on and driving fast cars and enjoyed putting together smaller model vehicles. His best buddy, Elijah, was always at his side. Though their loss is great, the family is finding comfort in knowing that Chuck was given the opportunity to help others through his Gift of Life.

Chuck is survived by his children, Gina (Corey) Byrnes, Derrick Burklow and Tara Burklow; siblings, Linda Wilson, Lehmon “Preston” (Bonnie) Burklow, Jr. and Dale (Maggie) Burklow; grandchildren, Madison, Sylas and Penelope; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Chuck’s life will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the residence of Cindy and Bob Kidder, 2222 68th Street, Fennville beginning at noon. For those who are unable to attend, the family asks that you join them wherever you are in a moment of silence in remembrance at 2:00 PM. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the family. Chappell Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Chuck was my next door neighbor, I helped him with his mom when he went to work. He cared a lot about my son, whom he would help with his Mustang. He was always there for me when I needed a shoulder too. He was like my big brother. He is truly missed and will always be in our hearts. Rest in piece my friend
Love Rhonda and family
