Sarah Baker Obituary

Sarah Frances Baker, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on January 1, 1939, to Richard and Martha Herron, Sarah's life was a tapestry of devotion to her family and unwavering faith in the Lord.

Sarah’s journey began as a cherished daughter and sister, growing up alongside her brothers, Clarence, and Franklin Herron. Her early years were filled with the love and laughter that would become the hallmark of her own home. Sarah found her soulmate in Hershel Baker, and together they embarked on a lifetime of love, until Hershel’s passing preceded hers. The legacy of their union is a testament to their shared commitment to family and faith.

A dedicated homemaker, Sarah poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming home for her children, Doug, Richard, Daniel, Frances, Elizabeth, and Andrew. Her nurturing spirit was evident in every meal prepared, every quilt stitched with care, and every prayer whispered for her family's well-being. Her children, along with their spouses Debra, Kimberly, Nancy, Andy, and Kasie, were the pride of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Sarah's love multiplied with the arrival of each of her 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her kindness and wisdom. Her brother Franklin will remember her as a guiding light, a sister whose kindness knew no bounds.

A woman of many talents, Sarah's hands were rarely still. Her quilting was not just a pastime but a legacy of love, each piece a reflection of her artistry and generosity. Sarah’s deep love for the Lord was the cornerstone of her existence. It was this faith that she instilled in her family, a precious gift that will continue to guide them.

Sarah's departure leaves behind a void that can never be filled but also a remarkable legacy that will live on through her family and the countless lives she touched. She has left this world for a better place, where she rests in eternal peace, but the memory of her loving, kind, and faith-filled spirit will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
