Ronald Vern Hebrank, 82 of Fennville, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Holland Hospital in Holland, Michigan. Born April 9, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Vern and Lorraine (Welch) Hebrank. As a young man, Ron entered the United States Army and served honorably for three years, stationed in Germany. Upon his return, he married Heidrun Marie and the two of them raised their seven children together. Ron earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Upper Iowa University and began his career at Bell Labs, which later became AT&T. During his time there, the company sent him to Princeton University to further his education, where he earned his Master of Business degree, and he ended up becoming the VP of AT&T International before his retirement in 1990. Being raised in busy Chicago, Ron enjoyed spending his summers in Iowa on a farm. He had a great love of the outdoors and appreciated the beauty around him. One of his big dreams, that unfortunately he was never able to fulfill, was to sail around the world in his boat. Ron never really had any regrets though; he had a beautiful family and was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His life was full, and he was able to have a second chance at love after the passing of his wife. Spending time with those he loved so dearly was his main focus and he knew that he was a lucky man. He is already greatly missed.
Surviving are his children, Monique (Cary) McCormick, Heidiann Hebrank, Ronald Hebrank Jr., Karl Hebrank, Douglas Hebrank, and Duke Hebrank; his partner of 27 years, Margaret Bernard; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents and the mother of his children, Heidrun Marie, Ron was preceded in death by his son, Stephan Hebrank; and his two brothers, Donald Hebrank and Sonny Hebrank.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Battle Creek V.A. and Holland Hospital for the compassionate comfort and care shown to Ron and the family. Chappell Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
