Calletana Martinez

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Calletana Martinez, 80 of Fennville, Michigan. She passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 surrounded by family. Born December 20, 1942 in Robstown, Texas. Calletana was one of nine children born to the late Esteban and Manuela (Hernandez) Jimenez.
Calletana was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Abuela. Calletana had a vivacious personality and great sense of humor. Her warm presence made her family feel safe and at home. She was and always will be the light and heart of her family.
Calletana is survived by her loving husband Alejo Martinez of 63 years, Six children: Alex (Marcelina) Martinez, Donna Martinez, Roman Martinez II, Juan Jose Martinez, Maria Martinez, and Marisela (Chris) Wabeke.
Siblings; Emmit Jimenez, Elvira Rodriguez, Cruz Jimenez, Mary Oisten and Gloria Jimenez.
Sixteen grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Calletana is proceeded in death by her parents and brothers, Juan Jimenez, Esteban Jimenez Jr. and sister Paula Gonzales.
Family and friends will gather at: St. Peter Catholic Church, 100 St. Peters Dr. Douglas, Mi. 49406 on Tuesday, June 27 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am for a visitation.
Service to start at 11:00 am with Interment to follow at Taylor Cemetery. Luncheon will be held back at St. Peter's Hall following burial.
