Alice Lynne (Thompson) Cornelissen

Alice Lynne Cornelissen, 62 of Fennville, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  Born August 22, 1960 in Allegan, Michigan, she was the daughter of Barbara Jean (Fosdick) Birkholz and the late Robert Norman Thompson and the wife of Richard Wayne Cornelissen.  Alice and Richard were blessed with over 28 years as husband and wife and over 40 years together with Richard known for being her “Boo.”  People looked to Alice for her beautiful and continuous smile, having the ability to keep her sense of humor in almost every situation. Her quick wit and sassy personality only added to her charm.  She had a deep love for her family and friends and was always happy to be surrounded by them.

Surviving is her loving husband, Richard; her mother, Barbara Birkholz and stepfather, Leo Birkholz; her siblings, Katherine R. (Scott) Kelch, Jeffrey R. (Sara) Thompson, Christine D. (Allen) Martin; her step-siblings, Michele (Gary) Lyons, Mike Birkholz, and Mark (Veronique) Birkholz; her sisters-in-law, Debbie Thompson, Linda Fisher, and Patricia Fowler; her nephews, Christopher (Lily) Baumbach, Curtis (Courtney) Thompson, Lance Lacy, Ryan (Kristin) Thompson, Joey (Brianna) Thompson, Jordan (Lucy) Thompson, Henry VanderBok, Derick Fowler, Warren Martin and Jaron (Nikki) Martin; her nieces, Sierra (Jose) Trevino, Stefanie Fowler, Rhiannon Espuet, and Joy Martin; great nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and a lot of wonderful friends.

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Randolph S. Thompson.

The family will hold a private graveside service at the Fennville City Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Fennville Vets Club (2373 53rd Street, Fennville, MI 49408) on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, food will be provided.  The family looks forward to visiting with family and friends and remembering Alice and the life she loved.  In memory of Alice and her love for her 2 cats, her parrot, and her niece dog, Agnes, memorial donations may be made in her memory to For Sake of Being Humane at 2525 Blue Star Highway, Fennville, Michigan 49408.  Chappell Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
