William "Eddie" Long went to be with his Heavenly Father on November 29, at his residence in Fennville. Eddie was born on March 29, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri to his loving parents John and Nellie (Crutchfield) Long. Eddie was a man after Gods own heart, serving his community and family day in and day out. He married the love of his life Cindy Wells on June 9, 1979 and were faithfully married for 42 years.
Eddie is survived by his wife Cindy (Wells) Long; children Sara (Charles) Reeves, Joe Long, Tara (Brett) Leisure. Siblings Carl Long, and Saundra Crawford. Grandchildren Abby, Logan, Mason, Vivien, and Teddy. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents John and Nellie Long, and also his in-laws Theo and Wincie Wells.
Eddie was a devoted pastor at Friendship General Baptist Church in Fennville for 18 years. Eddie was known throughout the community and the ministry for his musical talents and singing abilities. He spent many years mentoring and inspiring others in music and spreading the gospel. Eddie enjoyed playing music on the weekends with friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Eddie had requested to be cremated and his ashes be taken back to Missouri to be buried beside his parents.
