William Gerald Kohl, age 89, died at Holland Hospital on July 16, 2010. He was born on November 26, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois, to Clarence & Florence (Walkley) Kohl. He graduated from Tilden Tech High School and 2 years at Wright Community College. William served his country in the U.S. Army. On May 4, 1945, following his discharge, he married Isabelle T. Boland. William retired as a supervisor from the civil service in the U.S. Navy Department working in electronics at Great Lakes. He then worked for many years in the area as a fruit farmer. His family includes his wife Isabelle; his daughter, Billie Jean Kohl; his son, Gerald Kohl; his sister, Nora Jean Corbin; and numerous other family members. Following his wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a future date.
