Obituary

Vernon D. Sill, 82, of South Haven, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, in Allegan, at his daughter's home. Born Feb. l4, 1925 to William and Alice (Carter) Sill. He married Ester N. Cole Nov. 10, 1946, she preceded him in death Jan. 24, 2006. He was a farmer in the Casco Area most of his life, and a Allegan County Commissioner. A member of the Casco United Methodist Church, Michigan Steelheaders Association, South Haven Chapter, he was also one of the founders of the Casco Township Fire Department. Surviving are his daughter, Pauline and Dennis Allen of Allegan; Sons, Warren Sill, William and Joanne Sill, and Edward and Betty Sill all of South Haven, MI.; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; Brother, Russell and Elaine Sill of Zeeland, MI and Sister Mahla Keller of Jenison. Services are Monday, Oct. 8, 2007 at the Casco United Methodists Church, 880 66th Street, South Haven, MI at l:00 P.M. Visitation is one hour prior to the service beginning at l2 noon. Officiating will be Rev. David Meister, with burial at McDowell Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Casco United Methodist Church or Hospice of Michigan, l260 Grand Rapids, MI.
