Vera J. Bale, age 80 of Fennville, Michigan, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at Briarwood Assisted Living in Allegan. Born August 24, 1933 in Sheldon, Iowa, she was the daughter of Alfred and Anna (Uittenbogaard) Bruce. Vera lived in the Fennville area are for over 53 years, and worked for the Fennville Public Schools for over 35 years, as an aid then as a dietician. She was preceded in death by her husband Homer "Beezie" Bale on August 31, 2012 and Brother James Bruce in 2011. She is survived by her children; Bart and Lorrie Bale of West Olive, MI, Scott and Laura Bale, of Fennville, Kurt and Lori Bale, of Fennville, Doug Bale and Debbie Laraway of Pullman, Kristi and Mike Corradini of Alamo, MI, 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Vera will be remembered as a kind and loving Mother, Grandmother, Wife, friend and co-worker. She was a beacon of love to all that knew her and a best friend to many. She cherished the lifelong friendships she made along her journey through life. She had a warm and patient demeanor and was there for all through life's ups and downs. Vera enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking , gardening . Above all she loved her family and was close to every single one of them. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Chappell Funeral Home Fennville.
