Valerie (Berridge) Boerigter

September 9, 1962 – June 27, 2024

Valerie (Berridge) Boerigter, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024, at her home in Pullman, MI. Born on September 9, 1962, in Grand Rapids, MI, Valerie's gentle spirit and nurturing nature touched everyone she encountered throughout her 61 years of life.

Valerie spent her life as a devoted homemaker, a role in which she flourished and found immense joy. Her ability to transform a house into a home was an art form, and she did so with love and grace. Valerie's life was a testament to the power of caring, as she dedicated herself to not only her family but to anyone who needed a helping hand.

She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Richard Boerigter, who will remember her as his truest companion and the heart of their family. Valerie's legacy continues through her six beautiful children and five grandchildren, who will carry her nurturing spirit forward. The recent arrival of a great-grandchild brought her immense joy and added to the family she cherished so deeply. Valerie's memory will also be honored by her seven siblings, who shared an unbreakable bond with her from childhood to her final days.

Valerie was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Jaquelyn (Burns) Berridge, and three siblings. They paved the way for the incredible woman she became, and she will be among those who loved her first.

An avid fisher, Valerie found solace in the tranquility of nature. She had an affinity for plants. Her culinary skills were unparalleled, and she delighted in cooking for her family, infusing every dish with love.

Above all, Valerie's passion was her family and the children she so adored. Her home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and the aroma of her delicious cooking. The words loving, kind, and gentle are not enough to encapsulate the profound impact she had on those around her.

Valerie's life was a beautiful journey of love, selflessness, and compassion. She will be deeply missed, but her light will continue to shine in the hearts of those she touched. Her memory will be cherished and celebrated as a reminder of the goodness she embodied.

Per Valerie's wishes, cremation has taken place, and her family will honor her life until they meet again.
