Tony Lee Schut, age 70, has joined our Lord and Savior on August 7, 2018. Tony passed away at home with his loving family by his side. He is the son of Adrianna DeKraker and the late Albert Schut. Tony was a vegetable farmer for over 30 years, then joined the Fennville Public Schools in 2000 working in building and ground maintenance and also transportation until he retired in July of 2018. He also served as an elder at his church, Hope Reformed Church in South Haven. Tony coached track and field for over 10 years, being inducted to the Hall of Fame in February of 2018.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Delores Schut. He is also survived by his son, Joseph (Ann) Schut; grandchildren, Dylan, Tyler, Ely and Emily Schut; siblings, Albert Schut Jr., Linda MacHaila, Diana (Eric Kiander) Moelker, Dan (Pam) Schut, Lyle (Diane) Schut, Todd (Lorie) Schut, Lisa (John) Kiss; sister in laws, Donna (Stan) Johnston, Sharon McNeal; brother in law, Mike (Peggy) Hough; special nephew, Chris Johnston; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St. Fennville, MI 49408, on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 2-4 PM and 6-8PM. Funeral service will be on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Hope Reformed Church, 1365 Monroe Blvd., South Haven, MI 49090, at 11 am, with a visitation starting one hour prior at 10 am, Pastor Steve Smallegan officiating. Interment will take place at the Fennville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tony's memory can be made to Wings of Hope Hospice in Allegan, 530 Linn St., Allegan, MI 49010 or to Hope Reformed Church in South Haven.
