It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Timothy Paul Johnson, age 74, on May 15, 2026. Tim suffered from COPD for many years, but you would have hardly noticed. He never complained about his struggle. In his final weeks, Tim was under hospice care. We are comforted in knowing he passed from this life into the arms of Jesus.
Tim was born in Allegan, Michigan on November 13, 1951. He grew up in Bravo, Michigan. Tim graduated from Fennville High School, class of 1970. He married his high school sweetheart, Pam Dollar. Together they built a life of farming and raising four daughters. Tim worked on his family’s farm growing onions and carrots. With years of hard work and careful planning, he grew the farm into a thriving business growing and shipping hundreds of acres of onions. Tim was appointed to serve on the Michigan Onion Committee through the terms of two governors. He was a hard worker and dedicated to his family. In 2003, Tim retired from farming. He and Pam started a DJ business called “Still The One DJ”. He loved music and he loved to dance.
Tim was also great at telling stories about history and the past. He had a perspective that always made you think. He would share details about historical events as if he had been there.
It’s hard to believe we will never sit on the porch again and listen to him talk or see him dancing in the barn at the next family hoedown. We will all miss Grandpa’s homemade peanut butter fudge and seeing the Hawaiian shirts he loved to wear. We will miss his witty sense of humor. He could have us all laughing in any situation. He made life fun. Dad, you will be so missed.
Tim leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Pam Johnson, the love of his life. His four daughters Stephaine Myers, Tammy Davis, Melynda (Rudy) Diaz, and Valerie Johnson. His 19 grandchildren, Nicole, Andy (Colleen), Cody, Mikayla (Pete), Melissa, Megan, Tyler (Larry), Mateo, Mason, Micah (Carolyn), Malik (Emmy), Mia, Miles, Myla, Madi, Marshall, Maylee, and Magyver. His 11 great grandchildren Adam, Gaven, Mackenzie, Hayden, Brayden, Bronsen, Scotty, Harrison, William, and Eloise. His 2 great-great grandchildren, Rowdie and Rebel. Tim leaves behind a brother Todd (Renee) Johnson, a sister Mary Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Faith Johnson, and his grand-daughter Danielle Clouse.
Timothy’s visitation will be on Tuesday, May 19, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Chappell Funeral Home. His funeral will be the next day, Wednesday, May 20, starting at 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM. Following the funeral will be a graveside at Pearl Cemetery. After the graveside, the family invites you to a lunch, at the family barn located at 5937 115th Ave Fennville MI 49408.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice 625 Kenmoor Ave. SE, Suite 115, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.
