Susan K. Babbitt, age 62, of Fennville, MI passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. Born August 22, 1954 in Holland, MI, she was the daughter of Eugene and Gertrude (O'Connor) VanLiere. Susan had a passion for music, playing professionally since she was 12. She was the music director at the Fennville United Methodist Church, but played at many other churches and events when needed. In her free time she enjoyed working in her garden. Most importantly though, she was a devout Christian, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Susan is preceded in death by her parents. Surviving is her husband of over 30 years, Stan Babbitt of Fennville, MI; children, Justin and Betsy Babbitt of Holland, and Cole Babbitt of Fennville, 3 grandchildren; brothers, Tom and Nancy VanLiere of Mears, MI, Stan and Nancee VanLiere of Holland; and loved nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 2-6 PM at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St., Fennville, MI 49408. Funeral services will be held at the Fennville United Methodist Church on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11 AM. Pastor Daniel Barkholz will officiate. Susan will be laid to rest at Restlawn Cemetery in Holland, MI. Memorial donations may be made in Susan's name to the Fennville United Methodist Church, PO Box 407, Fennville, MI 49408.
