Sonja Heather Waghorne, 80, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at her home in Holland, MI. She was born on July 21, 1936 in Brighton, England to Frances and Florence (Eves) Waghorne. Sonja loved Lake Michigan, getting her hands dirty in her beautiful gardens, feeding birds of which her favorites were the red cardinals and yellow finches. Her true passion was in rescuing, sharing and taking care of her beloved bulldogs. Sonja spent that last few years living in Holland, MI with her amazing friend and caregiver, Beth Moore who enjoyed these same things. She was also able to spend time with another cherished friend, Jeane TerHaar, who adored her. So many people crossed Sonja's path in her lifetime and she was an absolute encouragement and blessing to many. Sonja is survived by her children, Katrina McGrath of South Haven, MI; Steven McGrath of Grand Junction, MI; Bobby Crawford of Chicago, IL; step-daughter, Barb Bonkowski Pasquill of Portage, MI; her grandchildren Ricky and Leah, whom she adored and cherished.
