Obituary

Shirley Rose (Klasek) Wohlert, 88, was called back to her lord on December 24th, 2014. Shirley was born in Oak Park, Illinois and raised in Berwyn, Illinois. She graduated from J. Sterling Morton College in Cicero, Illinois and was married to Matthew P. Wohlert on June 8th, 1946. Shortly thereafter, Shirley and Matthew moved to Fennville and began their family. Shirley was extremely faithful to her church and found great comfort in reading scripture regularly. In her early years, Shirley danced professionally and modeled clothing. Later in life, Shirley continued her passion for dance by teaching ballroom dancing to children and adults for school programs. Prior to her retirement in 1994, Shirley spent 22 years with the Allegan County Soil Conservation District. Shirley was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceeded in death by her husband in 1998. She is survived by her son, Scott Wohlert; her grandchildren, Kelli (Sean) Cassis and Jason Wohlert; and her great-grandchildren, Rylee and Parker Cassis and Ashlyn Wohlert. Her generous spirit will be missed by all whose lives she touched. A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2015 with the date, time, and location to be determined at a later date. Notifications will be sent out prior to the service. It is asked that, in lieu of flowers, the needs of the family be considered. Donations can be addresses to Scott Wohlert and sent to P.O. Box 86, Pullman Michigan 49450.
