Let me tell you some things about this amazing lady.  Shelby Sherrie Carnes was born on May 18, 1962, to John H. Parker (2019) and Dawn I. Parker (Mohr, 2024).  Shelby was married to her loving husband Michael H. Carnes.  She graduated from Fennville High School in 1981.  Shelby joined the team at Campbell's Mushroom Farm and worked there for over 15 years.  She did the same at the Fruit Canners in Fennville.  She grew with both companies.  When she was struck with cancer she was in the Material Handling Department at the Canners. She was a valued employee.

Shelby's life was about more than just work.  She has two beautiful daughters, Tabitha Shiver and Chelsea Barnes, that she raised as a single mom into their teenage years.  Cupid stuck Mike and her, and their families became one.  Shelby was a strong woman and a strong mom.  She enjoyed family times.  There are many pictures of a day's catch, a dust covered track in Hartford, birthday parties and cook outs.  Her quiet times were spent reading a good book and snuggling with her fur babies, Sammy and Rosie.  In earlier years her snuggle buddy was Gauge,  I am sure they are snuggling right now.  She has raised many egg laying chickens in her time and has a nice little orchard that Mike and her nurture together .  These are just a few things that make Shelby an amazing woman.  She is already missed but will never be forgotten.

Shelby leaves behind her husband Michael H Carnes.  Shelby is survived by her children Tabitha (Tim) Shiver, Chelsea Barnes (Justin Carter), Michael Carnes Jr., Benjamin (Tamara), Nastassia Carnes (Jesse Schipper) and Nicolause Carnes (Haley Tunstall); Brother, Chris Parker (2023); Sister, Sheila Duncan (Wesley Mitchell); nine grandchildren; her special Aunt Rachel (Doug) Congdon; Sister-in-law, Debbie (Ross) Anderson, Karen Carnes; and many cousins.

The family will receive friends at Chappell Funeral Home on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.  A memorial service will begin at 1:00 PM.
