Ruth Mae Variell, age 93, of Douglas, MI., formerly of Pullman, MI., died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009 at the Grace of Douglas. Born, December 11, 1915 in Allegan County, MI., she was the daughter of Clayton and Hazel (Ely) Hagger. Ruth was a homemaker and a member of the Pullman Rebekah Lodge, she was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Variell on April 18, 1998. Surviving are her children Richard and Pat Variell of Pullman, Nancy and James Collins of Kalamazoo, and Pam and Skip Willis of Three Oaks, MI., grandchildren; Bonnie, Donna, Mike, Shelly, Jason, Sarah, and Brian, 10 great-grandchildren, brother Joseph and Marilyn Hagger of Florida, and sister-in-law Beverly Hagger of Fennville, also many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 at the Lee Cemetery in Pullman, MI., officiating will be pastor Jeffrey Stephens.
