Roy E. Averye, age 67, of Allegan, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at his home. Born Sept. 6, 1941 in Grand Rapids, MI, he was the son of Vernon E. and Irene (Harkema) Averye. A machine builder at Batts in Zeeland, he retired in 1999, after 20 years. Roy was a member of the Assembly of Yaltweh and the N.R.A. Roy loved to hunt, fish, and spend time in the outdoors. Surviving is his wife of 22 years, Bernice, brothers: Dan Averye and Mike Averye both of Holland, and one sister Judy Noecker of Hastings, MI, Step Children; Stephen Jellison of Okemos, Nathan Jellison of Indiana, and Sherra and Matthew Slee of Charlotte, MI. At his request cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time. Memorial donations may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice of Allegan.
