Obituary

Ronald Dare (Sam) Sampson, age 76, of Hamilton, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 at his home, with his family by his side. Born February 25, 1936 in Whitley City Kentucky, he was the son of Sanford and Sera (Spradling) Sampson. A retired factory worker, Sam worked for Bay Casting and retired from Sealed Power in Zeeland. He was a member of the Fennville Rod & Gun Club, and was active at the South Haven Rod and Gun Club. Sam enjoyed the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, shooting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, or just spending time talking to friends and family. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley on June 23, 2007. Surviving are his children; Daniel Sampson of Hamilton, Judie and Jim Driesenga of Holland, Ronald Jr. and Maricris Sampson of Holland, P. Jane Peterson of Pullman, MI, six grandchildren, one great-grandson, brother, Robert and Bea Sampson of Buford South Carolina, brother-in-law Kenneth and Billie Walters of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, and brother-in-law Brad Arnold of Holland, MI. Visitation will be Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 6-9 , and funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Chappell Funeral Home in Fennville. Officiating will be Rev. Dale Scholten, and burial will be in the Manlius Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the South Haven Boy Scouts. An online registry book is available at www.chappellfuneralhome.com
