Rodney LeRoy Woolf, 80, of Saugatuck, MI passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Douglas Cove Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born April 24, 1943 in Douglas, he was the son of the late Harvey LeRoy and Morna (Blink) Woolf and was the husband of Shirley (Carr) Woolf. Rodney and Shirley attended Calvary Baptist Church in Holland. He had a passion for antique tractors, especially John Deere and Allis-Chalmers. He loved to spend time rebuilding them and restoring the machines to their former glory as well as seeing them in action at area tractor pulls. Rodney also had a soft spot for dogs and enjoyed their companionship.
In addition to Shirley, his wife of fifty-nine years, he is survived by his daughter, Vicki (Jason) Williamson; a sister, Christine Giles; siblings-in-law, Evadean (Billy Tom) Bittle, Elfreeda Tilley, Gereta Gibbs, Harold (Vernita) Carr, Carlon (Linda) Carr, Karon (Fred) Taylor, Judy (James) Prestwood and Dedra McCaghren. Along with his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bud Giles; and in-laws, Ople (Opal) Carr, Lavetta Pike, Cloeta Berry and Phill Carr.
A memorial service will take place at Calvary Baptist Church, Holland, on Saturday December 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Rodney will be laid to rest privately in Taylor Cemetery, Ganges Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 517 W. 32nd Street, Holland, MI 49423; or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
