Robert Frederick (Bob) Roper passed away on May 29, 2014 at his home after a brief illness. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on February 5, 1949. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Rescorla. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 31 years, Kathleen Roper, sons Benjamin (Katie and grandson Charlie) and Robert (Bo) Roper (Kristen), parents Phyllis and Jerry Roper, mother-in-law Thelma Beelen, sisters Cynthia (John) Raven and Catherine (Gary) Marshall, brothers Jim and David Roper, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Bob's love of nature led to his occupation as a landscaper, which he enjoyed for 41 years. He loved the challenge of creating beautiful work with his good friend and partner, Brand Dykstra. He was devoted to and adored by his family and friends. He lived his life with dignity, love, and optimism. Bob will be remembered for his warm smile and kind-hearted nature. A Celebration of Life open house will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the Saugatuck Yacht Club, 15 Park Street, Saugatuck, Michigan.
