Robert E. Mellon, age 84, of Fennville, MI passed away suddenly, at his home on Monday, February 10, 2014. Born January 27, 1930 in Allegan, Michigan, he was the son of Thomas and Helen (McKee) Mellon. A graduate of Otsego High School, and a Korean Army veteran, Bob retired from Michigan Fruit Canners in Fennville as a field representative. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, V.F.W. Post #7911, and the AMVETS. Bob enjoyed going to and watching all sporting events, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Surviving is his wife of 63 years Audrey (Dineen) Mellon, daughter Roma Lea and James Wood of Troy, Michigan, son Rodney and Mary Mellon of Wyoming, Michigan, five grandchildren, one great-grandson, sister Lois Maxine Newton of Otsego, Michigan, and mother-in-law Ethel Luplow. Visitation will be Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Chappell Funeral Home 637 W. Main St. Fennville, Michigan, and funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2014, at the funeral home. Officiating will be Ms. Marcia Tucker. Memorial donations may be made to V.F.W.
