Born on August 28, 1941, in Chicopee, Mass, he embodied the virtues of love and determination throughout his life. Robert's battle with cancer demonstrated his warrior spirit, but it was his unwavering love for his family and his zest for life that truly defined him.
Robert honorably served in the United States Air Force, a period of his life that shaped his character and instilled in him a sense of duty and resilience. After his service, he found joy and purpose in the simple pleasures of life – the laughter of his grandchildren, the companionship of his beloved dogs, and the beauty of the outdoors.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 35 years, Carolyn (Moser) Geoffroy, who stood by him through every challenge and triumph. Together, they built a life filled with love and mutual respect. His legacy continues through his children, Robert (Deanna) Geoffroy II of Chicopee, Mass., Irene (Robert) Fugiseth of Wyoming, MI., Michelle Geoffroy of Grandville, MI., Brenda Geoffroy of Jenison, MI., and Rene (Louis) Orth of Knoxville, TN.
Robert's life was further enriched by his 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, whose achievements and milestones brought him immeasurable joy. He was predeceased by his parents, Telesphore and Priscilla (Hudon) Geoffroy, his son Mark Geoffroy, his brothers-in-laws, Patrick Welch and Dick Gagne, and his grandchild Tristen.
He is also survived by his brother Arthur (Rita) Geoffroy of Holyoke, Mass., sisters Priscilla Welch of Chicopee, Mass., and Joan Gagne of Granby, Mass., and several brothers and sisters-in-laws, many nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember Robert for his warmth and generosity.
Robert's life was a testament to love and strength. He was a loving husband, a kind father, and a courageous man who faced his illness with a spirit that inspired all who knew him. His ability to ring the bell after chemotherapy, not just once but over and over, became a symbol of his tenacious hold on life and his refusal to be defined by his disease.
His interests and hobbies reflected the essence of who he was – a man who cherished the natural world and the companionship of his faithful dogs. His love for the outdoors was only matched by his love for his family, whom he placed above all else.
