Robert K. Bushee, age 77, of Fennville, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in Grand Rapids, MI. Born July 28, 1935 in Grand Rapids, he was the son of Keith and Ivah (Higgins) Bushee. A graduate of Fennville High School, Bob worked at Michigan Fruit Canners in Fennville for 37 years retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Holland Elks, and the Michigan Draft Horse and Mule Association. Bob enjoyed teaching his family and friends his knowledge of horse training, and horse and mule pulling. He was a long time farmer in the area raising crops and livestock, and was known to many as a legendary horse trader in South West Michigan, he loved to buy, sell, or trade any kind of livestock, or equipment. Surviving is his life partner Edie Cochran of Fennville, wife Kay Bushee of Fennville, children; Dixie Bushee of Wisconsin, Michael Bushee, Rondell and Jean Bushee, Timothy Bushee, Louise Bushee all of Fennville, grandchildren; Brittany, Jessica, Sarah, Crystal, Dustin, Michele, and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8, and funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at the Chappell Funeral Home 637 W. Main St. Fennville, MI with Rev. Thomas Case officiating. Burial will be in the Fennville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Fennville Area Fire Department 599 W. Fennville St. Fennville, MI 49408.
