Robert ("Bob") Ward Brown, 74, died on January 9, 2015, in Anderson, CA, from complications associated with dementia. He was born on July 25, 1940, in Fennville, MI to Dora (Harrington) Brown and Frank E. Brown who preceded him in death. He grew up on the family farm where he eventually raised his own family. Bob graduated from Fennville High School in 1958 and was on active duty in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1959 to 1961, earning the rank of Petty Officer Third Class. When he returned home, Bob married Nancy M. Johnson, also of Fennville. He worked for General Electric in Holland, MI for 29 years, primarily as a tool and die machinist. After his employment with General Electric, Bob and Nancy started Corner Laundry in Fennville and operated it together for a 15-year period, during which they also relocated their residence to Kalamazoo, MI. They sold their business and retired in 2002 and moved to Redding, CA in 2012. Bob is survived by his wife Nancy, of 53 years; daughter Lisa (Donald) Martin of Kalamazoo, MI; and sons Matthew (Maria) Brown of Stonington, CT; Andrew (Andrea) Brown of Redding, CA; and Nathan (Kathryn) Brown of Redding, CA. Bob is also survived by eight grandchildrena?"Sean (Amber) Martin, Maura Martin, Rachael Brown, Emma Brown, Robert (Makenzie) Brown, Megan Brown, Zachary Brown, and Devyn Brown, and one great-grandchild, Jack Martin. A celebration of life service to honor Bob will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 27, 2015 at Chappell Funeral Home in Fennville, MI. Bob was a strong, quiet, and devoted man who put his family first.
