Robert Lee Baker, 92 of Fennville died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, in Holland Hospital. Born in Cutler,IL., he was a finish carpenter retiring from Chris Craft in Holland. He was a member of the Ganges United Methodist Church and the Note Blenders from Evergreen Commons. A veteran of the U.S. Army he served in World War II. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Christopher Baker and Keri-Lin Newman, also 3 sisters and 1 brother. Surviving are his wife, Gertrude; children, Kenneth and Susan Baker of Dallas, TX, Shirley and Roy Newman of Fennville, and Linda and Walter Johnson of Fennville; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Cletus and Martha Baker of Penn., and Henry and Evelyn Baker of Grand Haven, MI; one sister, Mary Stehle of Holland, MI; in-laws Florence Baker of Holland, and Murrell Steele of Illinois. Services are 11:00 A.M. Friday, Sept. 24, 2004 at The Ganges United Methodist Church with the Rev. Barbara Fay officiating. Burial will be in Plummerville Cemetery. Visiting is Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Ganges United Methodist Church or Hospice of Holland.
