Rob H. Whitten, III, 44, of South Haven, died suddenly Tuesday, March 20, 2007, in Gilman, Il. Born March 19, 1963 to Robert Whitten, Jr. and Nancy (Peters) Whitten, he lived in the South Haven area since 1979, he was employed as a greenskeeper for the South Haven Country Club. A lover of the outdoors, Rob loved to hunt, fish, garden, and enjoyed animals of all kinds. He was a former boy scout and a member of the L.C. Mohr Golf Team. Surviving are his daughter, Rebecca Anne Whitten of South Haven, his parents, Robert Jr. and Nancy Whitten of South Haven, one brother, Thomas and Clare Whitten of Evansville, Wisconsin; two nephews, Lane and Max. Two Aunts, Donna Springs, of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and Patti Whitten of Maryland; and many other friends. Services are scheduled for Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 65l Phoenix St., South Haven, Michigan. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church with the Rev. Jeffrey Dick, officiating. Memorials may be made to the Charity of One's Choice.
