Richard "Rich" Smiser, age 69, of Fennville, Michigan, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Hospice House in Holland, MI. Born November 27, 1944 in Douglas, Michigan he was the son of Peter and Geneive Smiser. Rich lived all of his life in the Douglas area, he loved to fish and spend time outdoors, he spent many hours fishing under the bridge in Douglas. He is survived by his very special friend Lorraine Folkert of Holland, sister Cathy Schoeneich of Howell, MI, nephews Pete Martin, Donnie Martin, and Ricky Martin all of Fennville. At his request cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m Wednesday, April 16, 2014, with visitation from 12 noon till service time, at the Chappell Funeral Home 637 W. Main St. Fennville, MI 49408. Officiating will be Rev. Greg TenBrink. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Holland 270 Hoover Blvd Holland, MI 49423.
