Richard Allen Onken, age 88 of Fennville, Michigan passed away at the Country Home Care in Pullman, Michigan on June 1, 2019. He is the son of the late Richard and Viola Onken. He had a passion for antique cars, auctions and John Deere tractors. He loved to spend time on his hobby farm with his wife Anna May, where they would grow apples, peaches and cherries. On February 6, 1951 Richard would marry the love of his life, Anna May. They spent 68 wonderful years together. During the winter seasons the two would love to spend time in Florida. Along with his wife, Richard is survived by his children, Keith (Vicki) Onken of Venice, Florida, Jerry (Pat) Onken of Fennville, Michigan, Ken (Pam) Onken of Fennville, Michigan and Scott (Kendra) Onken of Fennville, Michigan; his sisters, Carole Vork of Holland, Michigan and Phyllis (Larry Sr.) Babinski of Fennville, Michigan; sister in law, Rosie Onken of Holland, Michigan; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Connie Elaine Onken and brother, Laverne Onken. A visitation for Richard will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St. Fennville, MI 49408. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Chappell Funeral Home, with a visitation one hour prior from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Pastor Doug Tipken officiating. Interment at the Fennville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Country Home Care, 5290 110th Ave. Pullman, MI 49450. Richard will be greatly missed by his family.
