Richard Dewey Jackson, age 80 of Fennville, Michigan, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the Hospice House in Holland, MI. Born May 9, 1929 in Branch County, MI, he was the son of Dale and Bertha (Persails) Jackson. A Michigan National Guard Veteran, he married Rose J. McKercher on June 6, 1948. Dewey was a retired Journeyman Tool and Die Maker. He was vary active in square dancing, he taught square dancing for many years, and was a caller for the County Couples and the Matteson Circulators. He was also a Charter Boat Captain on Lake Michigan, and attended the Glenn United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Rose of Fennville, his son Gregory and Jeanne' Jackson of Florida, daughter Marcea Jackson and Terje Nygaard of Hartford, grandchildren; captain Randall and Kristin Jackson, Kelli Jackson and Hope Nygaard, great-granddaughter Mackenzie Bree Jackson, and one sister, Beverly Pratt of Marshall, MI, also many nieces and nephews. At his request cremation has taken place, and a memorial gathering will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Holland, or the Allegan County Resource Development Committee.
