Richard James Bannasch, age 86 of Fennville, Michigan passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 at the Golden Orchards Assisted Living Facility in Fennville. Born September 21, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan he was the son of Benard and Mathilda (Androsky) Bannasch. Richard was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Michigan Bell Company as an actuary. Richard was a founding member of the Southfield Hockey Club serving as past president. Surviving are his sons, Stephen and Kelly Bannasch of Saugatuck, Michigan, Michael and Danika Bannasch of Davis, California; daughter, Kathy Bannasch-Latourell and Frank Latourell of Atlanta, Georgia. 5 Grandchildren, Taylor, Shelby, Owen, Cameron, and Hanna and 1 great-grandchild, Averie; a brother, Roy and Carol Bannasch of Clarkston, Michigan. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Noreen on December 8, 2004, his parents, and sister Bernadine. Memorial donations may be made in Richard's name to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Holland, 435 VanRaalte Avenue, Holland, MI 49423. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St., Fennville, Michigan with visitation starting at 10:00 A.M. Officiating will be Rev. Dennis DeWitt of the Community of Church of Douglas.
