South Haven - Renee Adele Thaler (Gregory age 81, passed away peacefully at home January 8, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. Renee was born on October 5th 1927 in Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband John, parents Roscoe and Dorothy (Wright) Gregory and her brother Roscoe Gregory II. Renee enjoyed hunting and bowling in her younger years. She is survived by her eight children, Kathleen Pearson (Richard), John Thaler (Rose), Michael Thaler, Thomas Thaler (Cathy), Joel Thaler, Gregory Thaler, Brenda Thaler, Linda Thaler, Sister-in-laws Irma Gregory, Matilda Lynch, 13 Grand Children and 15 Great Grand Children. Renee worked for Bohn Aluminum during World War II, where she met John, her husband of 45 years. A licensed cosmetologist she enjoyed the many friendships she developed during that time. Renee relished in visiting with her kids and looked forward to the holidays to see all the Grand and Great Grand Children. She always taught "appreciate the little things and take nothing for granted". She will be missed by many people who benefited from her generosity. She loved driving down to Lake Michigan and taking in the beauty. She appreciated the company of her special friends Pat, Sue and Rose. A Special thanks to Jane and the crew at Borgess Hospice who worked diligently to make her comfortable during her last days. A private memorial will take place.
