Refugio C. Cavazos, age 89, of Fennville, MI passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Holland Hospital in Holland, MI. Born February 10, 1927 in Rio Grande City, TX, he was the son of Alfredo and Udelia (Cruze) Cavazos. Refugio worked as a farm laborer and was a member San Felipe de Jesus Catholic Church in Pearl, MI. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Bertha Cavazos on November 10, 2016. Surviving is his son Apolonio and Melinda Cavazos of Fennville, son Refugio Cavazos Jr. of Fennville; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; brother, Alfredo and Gladys Marie Cavazos. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St., Fennville, MI 49408. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 2, 2016 at San Felipe de Jesus Catholic Church, 5586 117th Ave., Fennville, MI 49408 with Fr. Fabio Garzon officiating.
