Raydene Roberts, age 71, of Holland, Michigan, passed away, Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the Hospice House in Holland. Born June 20, 1941 in Arkansas, she was the daughter of Benny and Nannie Thompson. Raydene worked in factories and as a clerk at a service station in, Jonesboro, Arkansas for many years. She has been living in the Holland area for the past two years coming from Jonesboro, Arkansas and Elkhart, IN. Raydene was a member of the Riverside Chapel in New Richmond, MI. Raydene was preceded in death by her daughter Deborah Laaksonen in 1985, first husband Eugene R. Laaksonen on June 3, 1976, and her second husband Junior M. Roberts in 2010. Surviving are her children Lena Starrett of Zeeland, Michael Laaksonen of Holland, Christine and Shaun Ritch of Starke, FL, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sisters Soretta "Tootsie" Lacey and Ruth Mulling. Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Riverside Chapel, 3142 57th Street New Richmond, MI with visitation from 3:00 p.m. till service time, Pastor Rick Jones officiating.
