Obituary

Our mother, Priscilla Dean Morris was born to Eva Cooper and Louis Morris on July 3, 1925, in Mariana, Arkansas. She was a miracle baby. Grand-Mother Eva had several miscarriages and her parents and grandparents prayed much for her to conceive, and the Lord blessed. Priscilla was the oldest of her siblings Earnestine, Louis, and Moses. All preceded her in death. The Morris family relocated to Memphis, Tennessee when she was a young child. Priscilla accepted the Lord as her Savior at an early age and was blessed to be brought up in a Christian home. Priscilla Dean Morris received her formal education in Memphis, TN. She graduated from Manasseh High School, and from Henderson Business College in 1944. After graduation, Priscilla Dean Morris relocated to Chicago, Illinois to live with her grandmother, Nancy Ruth Cooper. This is where she met the love of her life, Leonard Harris Holloway, and were united in holy matrimony on February 25, 1945, and to this union eleven children were born, and three children of another mother were added. Priscilla Dean Holloway and Leonard were entrepreneurs, they had a restaurant and Leonard was the former owner of Holloway's Garage and Holloway's Phillip's 66 Gas Station and Auto Mechanics Shop. Priscilla worked until her third child was born. Priscilla sold jewelry and received prizes for selling the most jewelry, and she sold Stanley Products. She was not idle. Priscilla was actively involved in the PTA. She was on the committee that examined the books that the school used in the classrooms. She also held the office of PTA President. In 1951, Leonard accepted the calling of the Lord on his life, he was called to the Pastorage. Priscilla Holloway became First Lady Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Pullman, MI where she last served as First Lady. She continued as a faithful member under Reverend Charles Knox until 2019, when she was physically unable. Besides being First Lady, Mother Priscilla served our Lord as a: Sunday School teacher and Superintendent of Sunday School, BTU President and served on the Mother's Board. Her hobbies were planning and cooking nutritious meals and crocheting. Mother Priscilla Holloway was a praying woman, a godly wife and a mother who loved to minister her husband and their children. Our father truly found a virtuous Proverbs 31 Woman, her price was far above… She leaves to mourn and cherish her memories seven boys, Lloyd (Renee) of Chicago, IL; Andrew and Calvin, both of Pullman, MI; Kenneth (Marianita) of Indianapolis, IN; Steven of Pullman, MI; Donald of Holland, MI; and Daniel.
