Philip M. Collins, 77 of Kalamazoo Michigan passed away Monday January 20, 2020. Phil was born in Allegan Michigan on Aug 20th, 1942 to Marjorie (Van Blois) Collins and William Collins. Phil went to Fennville high School. Throughout his career he has always been in sales, with the last 35 years spent as an Executive Recruiter in which he owned his own firm. Phil always enjoyed the outdoors; his hobbies included fishing, scuba diving and hunting with his father and sons and other friends at their family hunting lodge in Fennville, MI. Phil was also an active member of the Masons and Shriners in the Kalamazoo area. Phil is survived by his wife Nedra Gerke Collins, his sons Patrick and his wife Amy of Kalamazoo, MI, Peter and his wife Chris of Ada, MI, 3 step grandchildren, Riston and Halle Escher and Christian Antonini, his brothers Ron and wife Sandy of Saugatuck, MI and Bill of Flower Mound, TX and the mother of his children Maria Wertz. He is proceeded in death by his parents William and Marjorie Collins and his sister Tracy Bower. Friends may meet with the family on Friday, January 31, 2020 at the Chappell Funeral Home, 637 West Main St., Fennville, MI 49408, from 4pm - 8pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 12pm. Reception to follow.
