Pieter H. Passchier, age 69 of Glenn, MI, passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Born in Lisse, The Netherlands, Pieter immigrated with his family to Grand Rapids, MI in 1958. He graduated from Grand Rapids Central High School, attended Grand Rapids Community College, and graduated from Dordt College in Iowa. He was a retired US Air Force pilot. Pieter is survived by his caring wife, Willemina Vonhof-Passchier, and his children: Raymond (Christine) Passchier of Grand Rapids, MI; Wilma (Gilad) Ouazan of Rijswijk, The Netherlands; Gregoor Passchier and Heather Scotten of Greenbelt, MD. He is also survived by his two granddaughters, Anneliese and Lillian; his mother, Adriana Passchier; three sisters and two brothers. Pieter was buried in a private setting on Friday, December 27, 2013. His loving spirit will be celebrated at a memorial service on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation is from 12:00 p.m. until the service, at the Community Church of Douglas, 6780 Wiley Rd., Douglas, MI, www.ccofdouglas.org.
