Paul F. Holmes, age 69, of Douglas, died Thursday, September 9, 2010, at the Grace of Douglas. Born December 4, 1940 in Cheriton, Iowa, he was the son of Herman and Helene (Palmer) Holmes. Paul was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Holland. Because of his health, Paul had to retire from his job in sales. Paul is the man that liked to wave at everyone as they drove by his home at Heartland of Holland. Surviving is his wife, Carrie Holmes, son Michael Holmes, daughter Leslie Helias all of Douglas, son Todd and Jamie Holmes of Flint, nine grandchildren, sister Shelby and Kurt Wiethorn of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and three nephews. He was preceded in death by one son Scott Holmes. At his request cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice.
