Opal Higgs, age 91 of Fennville, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Grace of Douglas. Born May 6, 1918 in Russell, Arkansas, she was the daughter of John and Belle (Decker) Lacy. Opal was a homemaker, and a member of the Immanuel Reformed Church in Fennville. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Higgs on February 6, 1983. Surviving are her sons Donald and Yvonne Higgs, and Jerry and Patricia Higgs both of Holland. five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, and two gret-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. at the Chappell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2010 at the Immanuel Reformed Church in Fennville, with Rev. Ralph Houston officiating. Burial will be in the Fennville Cemetery.
