Nellie Jean Halcomb, age 82, of Fennville, Michigan, passed away on September 1, 2026. She was born on June 16, 1944, in London, Kentucky to the late Ben and Della Johnson.

Nellie was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence brought comfort and warmth to those around her. She was known for her kind heart, steady spirit, and the quiet strength she carried throughout her life. Her family was the center of her world, and she found her greatest happiness in spending time with those she loved most.

She is survived by her sons, Billy Halcomb and Bobby Halcomb, along with her cherished grandchildren, Billy Jr., Nicole, Ashley, Brittany, Amanda Myer, Trisha, Ashton and many great grandchildren. Nellie treasured each of them deeply and took great pride in watching her family grow. Her love for them was constant and unconditional, and the memories she created with them will remain a lasting source of comfort.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, , and by her brothers, Charlie, Leonard, Ben, and Paul Johnson. Their passing left a deep void in her life, yet she carried their memory with her always and honored the family values they instilled in her.

She worked faithfully for Hayworth for 28 years before retiring. Her long years of service reflected her strong work ethic and dependable nature. She approached her responsibilities with dedication and took pride in doing her part well. Those who knew her through work remember her as a reliable and respected presence.

Outside of work, Nellie loved her family above all else and found peace and joy in gardening. She had a special gift for nurturing both plants and people, and her garden reflected the care and patience she showed throughout her life.
