Michael Truitt Phelps, age 67, of Fennville, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at the Hospice House in Holland, MI. Born July 6, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of Waldo and Irma (Rothenstein) Phelps. He was a musician, teaching music at St. Mary College in Maryland for many years, moving back to the Fennville area in 1985. Michael is survived by his brother Eric and Janet Phelps of Fennville and his good friend Norman Capello of Fennville. At his request cremation has taken place, and his cremains will be buried in the Plummerville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Holland.
