Michael Eugene George, 42, of Fennville, MI passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. Born February 7, 1978 in Holland, MI, he was the son of Judy Lynn (Kinman) George and the late Wesley Eugene George. Michael, known to many as "Uncle Mike", loved to spend time mentoring children whenever he was able. He enjoyed spending time coaching basketball and helping the neighbor children and well as his children's friends navigate life. Mike had a passion for cars and loud music. He traveled everywhere from Indiana to Detroit to attend auto and stereo shows. He was proud to be a cancer survivor. In addition to his mother, Judy George, Mike is survived by his children, Brooklyn D. George and Jon P. Schmidtke and their mother, his longtime companion, Jamie Juanita Hoge, Colin T. Pitts, Cadin M. George and Camdin J. George and their mother, Nicole Renee George; aunts and uncles, Janitta Kinman, Brenda and Steve George, David George and Robert George; he and Jamie's faithful friend, Bella, a longhaired chihuahua; and a host of cousins, extended family members and friends. In accordance with recent regulations regarding the pandemic, and in an effort to maintain the health and safety of loved ones, funeral services will be held privately. Interment will take place in New Richmond Cemetery, Manlius Township. Anyone wishing to have a private moment of prayer and pay their final respects to Mike may visit Chappell Funeral Home, 637 West Main Street, Fennville on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 between the hours of 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
