Merle Louise Harrington, 89, of Phoenix, Arizona, died Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Hospice of Arizona. Born in Canada, she was a homemaker and a member of the Ganges United Methodist Church, WSCS, Mariposa Womens Group, North Hills Quilters Group, and the Eastern Star. Surviving are her children, Richard and Donna Harrington of Fennville, David R. and Darlene K. Harrington of White Cloud, Jeannine Zeller of Phoenix, Arizona, Nancy and Richard Gretzenberg of Maynard, Mass.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; nieces and nephews; a brother, Ward and Martha Walkley of Kaleva; and a sister-in-law, Jeanne Walkley of Ypsilanti. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1974, and by a son, Jimmy Harrington. Services are 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 8th at the Ganges United Methodist Church, with Marcia Tucker officiating. Burial wll be in Taylor Cemetery. The family will receive friends at an evening visitation on Thursday, April 7th from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main Street, Fennville and on Friday from noon until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be made to Ganges United Methodist Church or Hospice of Arizona.
