Matthew James Gettys, age 31, of Pullman, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born on November 24, 1980 in Heidelberg, Germany, Matt was the son of David James Gettys and Debra Ann Bodisch. Matt worked as a cook at Marros Restaurant in Saugatuck for the past 12 years and always loved being cook, most recently he worked at Pinnacle Foods in Fennville. Matt will be deeply missed by his friends and family who will always remember him as a huge Detroit Lions fan. Matt is survived by his mother, Debra and Richard May of Mattawan, step father, father, David Gettys of Louisiana, son, Gunner Gettys of Pullman, fiancAC., Judy Oisten of Pullman, steps sons, Andrew and Lucas of Pullman, brother, Adam Gettys of North Carolina, and sister, Kristen Gettys of Muskegon. There will be visitation at the Chappell Funeral Home, Fennville, MI, on Monday, November 19 from 1-3pm and 6-8pm with a time for family and friends to share and tell memories of Matt at 7:30pm.
