Obituary

Mary Carolyn VanVorhees, 87, of Fennville, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, in Holland Hospital. Born in Hamptonville, N.C., she had been a teacher for Fennville Public Schools for more than 30 years. She and her husband also ran Van's Farm Market in Fennville. She was a member of Fennville United Methodist Church. Her husband, Robert, preceded her in death in 2002. surviving are her children, Roger and Deana VanVoorhees of Marble Falls, Texas, R. Craig and Mary VanVoorhees of Scottsdale, AZ., John and Joan VanVoorhees of Fennville, and Sally and Jack Martin of Millington; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brothers, Walter Creason of Florida, Woodrow Creason of Terre Haute, Ind., and William and Mary Creason of Grand Haven; sisters, Lois Shields of Fennville and Dorothy and Hugh Tyler of North Muskegon. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. January 21, 2006 at the Fennville United Methodist Church with Rev. Raymond Sundell officiating. No visitation is planned. Memorials may be made to Fennville District Library or Fennville United Methodist Church.
