Mary Jean Surprenant, age 62 of Fennville died Friday, September 7, 2012 at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. Born in Kankakee, Illinois on September 28, 1949 she was the daughter of Philip and Florence (McGrath) Surprenant. She lived in the Fennville area most of her life and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the Shepherd's of Christ Prayer Group. Surviving is a sister, Rita (Steve) M. O'Kon of Zeeland, Michigan, niece, Amanda Jean Gumpert, nephew, Travis Alan Gumpert. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 11, 2012 from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St. Fennville. A funeral mass will be held at 2:30 P.M. from St. Peter's Catholic Church, Douglas, Michigan. Burial be in Taylor Cemetery.
