We celebrate the life of Mary Cecelia Knipper Dickinson Anderson Paine, age 85 of Saugatuck. A lifelong cornerstone of her family and community. Mary gave her life to helping and inspiring the lives of everyone she met. She will be remembered for her fortitude, energy, compassion, honesty, intelligence, individual style and class, and independence as a woman. Born Dec. 12, 1922 in Saugatuck, the daughter of Frank P. Knipper and Mary Belle Plummer. First Reader of the Fennville Christian Science Church, First Reader of the Saugatuck Christian Science Church and Christian Science Practitioner. Former president of Michigan State Horticulture Society, former treasurer of Allegan Business Professional Women, former president of the Saugatuck/Douglas Chamber of Commerce, former president of the Woman's Club of Fennville, former president of the Fennville PTA, former board member of the Phoenix Arizona Habitat for Humanity, former president of the Holland Board of Realtors. As a business woman, she was the Co-owner of Paine Farms, and owner of Donneybrook Kennels, Paine Farms Apparel and Broker Owner of Unique Properties-Real Estate. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lt. James Franklin Dickinson, second husband Lt. Robert O. Anderson, third husband Robert J. Paine, and her daughter Merri-Jim McLaughlin. Surviving are her sons Donnie-Jim and Elizabeth Dickinson of Tucson, AZ, Kirk Anderson of Dyer, Indiana, Jonathan and Janna Paine of Hurst, TX., nine grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
