Mary Leigh Muir, age 69 of Muskegon, MI passed away Thursday night with her sister at her side. Mary Leigh is the daughter of the late Bruce Muir and Eleanor Vander Meiden. Mary Leigh had a strong Christian faith, was tender hearted and adored her cats and animals of all sorts. She had many pet names for her favorite birds, bunnies, chipmunks etc. whom she would feed at every opportunity she had. She was adventuresome and enjoyed acrobatics, swimming, summers at the cottage and collecting shells and rocks on the beach. She was an avid television and movie buff, enjoyed reading and amassed a depth of knowledge about them. She loved music and to sing and dance. Mary Leigh had a terrific wit, sense of humor and brightness, with a heart for nature and helping others. She was a superstar, especially in her valiant and tenacious 16 year struggle against cancer, while maintaining strength of character and a sweet and sunny attitude. Mary Leigh is survived and will be sorely missed by her sister, Nancy Duggan of Fennville, MI. Along with her parents, Mary Leigh is predeceased by her brother Bruce 'Scott' Muir, Jr. and her brother in law John 'Jack' Duggan.
