Mary E. Adkin, 83, of Portage, MI; formerly of Casco Township, Michigan; died Friday, October l2, 2007 at Heartland Health Care in Three Rivers, Michigan. Born October 5, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois, to Stephen and Elizabeth (Juhas) Kraus she lived most of her life in the Casco area. She was a member of the Casco United Methodist Church, and retired from Citizens Bank in South Haven, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Adkin on March 15, 1997. Surviving are a son, Paul A. Adkin of Albuquerque, New Mexico; daughter, Karen and Mark Thompson of Portage, Michigan; 2 granddaughters; 1 step granddaughter; a brother, Paul S. Kraus of New Baltimore, MI; and many nieces and nephews. Services are scheduled for Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St., Fennville, Michigan, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
