Fennville

Obituary

Martha Elizabeth “Marty” Sentgerath Reddeman, of Fennville, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026, following a cardiac event. Marty lived her life with an open heart, a generous spirit, and a genuine passion for people, animals, gardening and her community.

Marty built her career with the United States Postal Service, where she dedicated many years of service. In retirement, she and her husband, Donald Reddeman, relocated to Fennville to be closer to Marty’s parents, who had settled in the area. What began as a move to be near family soon became an opportunity for Marty to make a meaningful difference in her new community.

Never one to sit on the sidelines, Marty quickly became involved in local activities and causes close to her heart. She devoted time to mentoring students at the local elementary school, supported Al-Van Humane Society animal shelter in South Haven, and became an active and caring presence in the Fennville community. Marty had a special gift for recognizing where help was needed and stepping in without hesitation. She also became part of the extended family at Crane’s Orchard, where she was a familiar face and a beloved regular. Marty treasured the friendships and connections she made throughout the community, always bringing warmth, enthusiasm, and her unmistaken spirit to the people and places she loved.

Marty truly had a heart of gold. She was the kind of person who would do whatever needed to be done for someone she cared about, never hesitating to lend a hand, offer support, or simply show up when it mattered most. She was passionate about life and lived it fully, finding joy in friendships, family, community, and the everyday moments that make life meaningful.

Marty leaves behind a legacy not measured by accomplishments alone, but by the people she touched, the kindness she extended, and the countless ways she made life better for others. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her adventurous spirit, her loyalty, and the love she shared so freely.

Her passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved her, but the memories she created and the friendships she nurtured will endure. Marty will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley E. Sentgerath. Marty is survived by her husband, Don Reddeman; her cherished father, John Sr. Sentgerath; her brother, John Sentgerath, and his wife, Lisa; and her much-loved nieces and nephew, Hannah, Julia, and Conrad; cousins Leonard his wife Verla and their kids Jenna and Daniel and cousin Leslie and wife Geni .

“Gone from this world, but never from the hearts of those who loved her. Some people leave footprints in the sand; the very special ones leave them on our souls.”

A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date.
